ClassDojo is an App we use to communicate with parents and carers. We share photo's, videos and announcements, so families feel more connected to school.
We also use ClassDojo as a behaviour reward system. Each child has a monster avatar that earns 'monster points' (Dojo's) for positive behaviour and work in school. These are linked with our school values:

- Well-being
Within our Behaviour Support Policy it states:
'Positive Reinforcement of Good Behaviour' We recognise and reward learners who go ‘over and above’ our standards. Our staff understand that at Redbridge Primary School we recognise that the use of praise in developing a positive atmosphere in the classroom and school environment cannot be underestimated and a quiet word of personal praise can be as effective as a larger, more public reward. It is the key to developing positive relationships, including with those learners who are hardest to reach.
Whilst staff continue to offer positive praise and encouragement the award of a Dojo will fit within the ‘over and above’ aspect to our behaviour approach. You will be able to see if your child has achieved a Dojo for going ‘over and above’ on the Dojo App and these can be celebrated with your child at home. If your child has a particularly extra-ordinary day and gets 10 Dojos or above then they will be rewarded with a recognition certificate at the end of the school day.
ClassDojo Parent App
Parents/carers can set up an account on ClassDojo using a unique parent code provided by their child's teacher or through an email invitation. This request must be approved by the school. Parents/carers can only view their own children's points and portfolios. The School Story is visable to all parents, however Class Story posts can only be viewed by the Parent/carers and students in that class. Parent/carers can message their child's teacher, as well as school leaders, which can only been seen by the parent/carer and the staff member they are messaging.
This is a free ‘App’ and although the ‘programme’ may encourage you to upgrade or pay for different aspects of its platform we encourage you to decline this. It is not necessary for how we, at Redbridge Primary,will be using the programme.
